Pablo Atchugarry
A retrospective dedicated to the uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry.
A collection of forty works of art, among which ten of them are exposed open air, most of these are made with Carrara marbles, which gave life to almost all the classical and Renaissance works of art preserved in the Capital.
Atchugarry’s ability is his aim to renew the ancient and magic relationship with the statues, mentioning in his upward compositions some undeniable references to a classicism belonging to our intimacy and supporting the sensibility of the admirers of the “eternal marbles”.
The works of art, placed outside on the occasion, show us how this itinerary, which began more than two thousand years before, finds here its obvious reason.
The works of art, comunicate among them drawing some paths, and respect the power of the background melt togheter into a particular architectonical scenary, and an everlasting and magic atmosphere.
The marbles finally find here their ideal room and the immortality of their times. Their concept of harmony and equilibrium here is not conditioned by the size, the subjects mentioned or the essence on which the invention is based.
The works of art, symbolize the eternity of those marbles and define their greatness of which we can admire a noble and enjoyable representation at the “Museo dei Fori Imperiali”
