Digital Cartography

Inquadramento urbanistico dei Mercati di Traiano

CADMO (The On-line Database of the Museums Cartographic Archives) is the digital database that contains information about the legacy of archaeological, historic-artistic, architectural and environmental heritage sites and artifacts owned by the City of Rome.

What does CADMO do?
Its purpose is to facilitate the sharing of information and improve the operational aspects of safeguarding, managing and raising awareness of Rome's vast heritage. This constantly up-dated digital cartographic database provides information that ranges from the state of the buildings and facilities, to the services and activities associated with the various sites concerned.

Who is behind CADMO?
The database was conceived and is maintained by the City of Rome's Superintendency for the Arts with the collaboration of Zètema Progetto Cultura. In-putting the data and keeping it up-dated is done by the very same people who devised the programme in the first place.

Who is CADMO aimed at?
It is aimed at those City Council employees who manage and promote each individual site and at the same time, provides the means with which the objective to increase appreciation of Rome's magnificent heritage can pushed forward. The programme might also be made available to all businesses interested in receiving information with a view to providing services that will further enhance this precious resource.
