Il sogno fotografico di Franco Angeli 1967-1975 (Franco Angeli's photographic dream, 1967-1975).

On display a brand new collection made of secret and private black and white photos of the artist Franco Angeli, one of the leading figure of the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, that he chose to to leave to Marina Ripa di Meana, who was his partner for eight intense years, from 1967 to 1975.

Carlo Ripa di Meana, curator of the exhibition, divided the black and white shots into six sections: Marina - Lucrezia - Friends - USSR - Fashion - Experiments, portraying his wife Marina and Franco Angeli in Rome, Ansedonia, London, Milan, Positano, Ponza and Moscow. Memories of a life spent together, where art was a philosophy and politics a life companion.

The exhibition aims at revealing the intimate side of the artist: Franco portrayed in Ansedonia, with Mario Schifano and Nancy Ruspoli, in Positano with his friend Tano Festa and Emilia Emo Capodilista, in his study in via dei Prefetti with the painters Janis Kounellis and Enrico Castellani, with the gallery manager Plinio de Martiis, the critic Achille Bonito Oliva and the poet Sandro Penna. A still image of a young Isabella Rossellini, in the painter's studio, where the very young Lucrezia Lante della Rovere he loved to play, among the works that became emblematic of the fabulous artistic period of the sixties and seventies.

Each shot preserves the taste and technique of the period. The photos show a shady but peaceful artist, an angry but a sweet man and "Marina" that embodies the different forms of the muse. More shots, more moments of life. Pictures of "Lucrezia", the daughter of Marina, reveal the artist's unexpected tenderness. The "Friends" with whom Franco shares moments of life and artistic endeavors. And finally the 'USSR' section, for him it represented the mother of all ideologies, female and ephemeral "Fashion" and the "Experiments", a sometimes disappointing lover.

On display are also a valuable documentation of objects of design and fashion of the sixties such as Gae Aulenti's Pipistrello lamp, Richard Sapper's Tizio lamp, Vico Magistretti's Eclisse lamp and the popular Cubo, a Brionvega radio, Marco Zanuso's Antares TV set, footwear, Superga tennis shoes, caps and Marina's clothes, and finally the catalogs of various exhibitions of Franco Angeli.
